Jarrard "Rod" Powell, Sr.

Rod is the founder of Encore Insurance Group in Richmond, Virginia, an approved licensing instructor in Virginia, and an Adjunct Professor in the Risk Management and Insurance School at VCU. He began his career as an agent and has spent over a decade and a half recruiting, training, and developing agents and leaders across the US.
He serves on the national board of NAAIA, the Virginia Insurance Continuing Education Board, the boards of VAIA and NABIP Central Virginia, and the VCU RMI Advisory Board. He hosts the You Should Get A License podcast and has written four books on the insurance industry.
Ngozi Nnaji

Ngozi brings about 25 years of insurance experience, starting as an actuary and spending two decades in underwriting and leadership roles at global carriers and brokers, including CNA and Willis Towers Watson. She is the founder of Ako Insurance Consulting, managing principal of Ako Brokerage Services, and an approved licensing instructor in Georgia.
She teaches risk management and insurance at the college level, serves as Secretary on the national executive board of the National African American Insurance Association, and co-founded HBCU IMPACT. She holds an M.S. in Risk Management & Insurance from Florida State University and a B.A. in Mathematics from Florida A&M University. In 2022 she received the Alonzo Herndon Award from Business Insurance.
